Oh.......................my.............fucking..............GOD!!! That show kicked so much fucking ass! Okay, on to the review. I've was extremely excited all day (no shit) and kept pacing the halls and waiting. When it finally came time for me to get ready, I jumped in the shower (with my loverly black fingernails) and then straightened my loverly red hair. I put on my Velvet Revolver t-shirt, a pair of jean capris (couldn't wear the black ones because it was too hot), my black Converse, and of course my studded belt. I couldn't put the belt through the belt loops because you wouldn't be able to see it, so I just did what Scott does and wrapped it around my waist ^_^ So then, I pulled my hair back into a regular ponytail, but let a big chunk of red hair fall over my left eye, like I did at Green Day. After putting on my studded wristband and some make up (heavy eyeliner, eye shadow, and a bit of blush), I grabbed my VR CD and was ready to go. My dad wasn't too happy about my appearence (believe me, it was worse last night than it was for Green Day), but I could really care less because this was my favorite fucking band. So, on the way to Germain, we listened to Contraband and I sang every song (except for the last one and we all know why). And for once, I didn't screw up on "Sucker Train Blues"! Yay, me! Anywho, we stopped at Wendy's and I got to scare little children with my rocker appearence. I got stares ^_^ We left Wendy's and headed into a bit of traffic, but we got out okay. My mummy got to park in the special zone right next to the box office, so we felt special. After getting compliments on my look from my mom's interns, we finally made our way inside the gates. The first thing I did, and I mean the VERY first thing I did, was buy a t-shirt. My t-shirt kicks ass. It's black and white and it has a skull and crossbones on it. It has Velvet Revolver above the skull and Hollywood below it. I think it's spiffie. Well, after people-watching for a while (I saw like 30 different band t-shirts while watching), we headed to our seats to see Chevelle because I love them. Their set included "The Red", "Send the Pain Below", and "The Clincher" and I think they kicked some ass. My dad hated them, but that's my dad. So, we left our seats for a while to go to the bathroom and for my parents to get more beer *lol* Finally, when I heard the roadies checking guitars and whatnot, I said, "It's time to go back now." My dad left before the show started, which really pissed my mom off. Well, after the lights dimmed, everyone (including me) stood up and stared cheering and screaming. And then I saw Duff come on stage, followed by Slash and Dave and the new drummer (Matt wasn't there because he injured his hand, which made me sad). The drummer's name was Brian and he was pretty fucking good. Anyway, that's not really why I was cheering. Guess who came out after everyone else just to tease me? SCOTT! He was wearing this red long-sleeved shirt and a black vest and black pants and, of course, his loverly Nazi hat ^_^ How he could stand the heat in all those clothes is a mystery to me. They started their set with "Sucker Train Blues" and Scott used his wicked awesome megaphone for the part that I always screw up, but miraculously didn't screw up at the concert. They finished the song to applause and my screaming *lol* Then Scott said hi to everyone ("hi" being "HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU ALL DOIN' TONIGHT?!?!?!?"). Then they launched into "Do It For the Kids", where Scott did this little moaning thing before singing "Went too fast, I'm out of luck, and I don't even give a fuck!" Gotta love that line. During that song, Scott started to strip, which is always good to see. He took off his shirt, which kinda made me feel relieved for him because it was really fucking hot. They did a couple Guns 'n Roses covers, which I didn't sing to because I can never remember those lyrics. Then they did "Big Machine" and Scott did the coolest thing. He went over to this keyboard/synthesizer and started randomly playing stuff. It was spiffie. Then he came back to center stage and screamed into the megaphone, "WE'RE ALL SLAVES TO A BIG MACHINE!" After that, they played "Come On, Come In", which I didn't think they would play because not many people know that one. I sang along to the chorus, which was the only part that I really knew. Then came "Sex Type Thing", which is one of the best Stone Temple Pilots songs EVER. It surprised me how much it sounded like the original. Guess Duff, Slash, Dave, and Brian really did their homework *lol* Well, of course Scott was strutting around half-naked and screaming, "I KNOW YOU WANT WHAT'S ON MY MIND...I KNOW YOU LIKE WHAT'S ON MY MIND...I KNOW IT EATS YOU UP INSIDE...I KNOW YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW!" So sexy. Well, during the song, Scott did his little "rock and roll generation" speech, which was actually quite good. I listened intently and tried not to scream out, "Scott, you're fucking hot!" *lol* Then they finished "Sex Type Thing" and right before the next song, Scott said, "My brother, Matthew Sorum, could not be here tonight because he injured his hand. I want you guys to pray for him, okay?" That was so nice ^_^ I love Matt and I was so sad that he wasn't going to be there. Anyway, Scott went on to talk about their show the other night. "Last night, we were...eh. That's right...eh. Tonight, we fucking kick ass. You know why? Because we've got all you beautiful people here tonight!" Aw, he said we were beautiful *lol* Then came "Set Me Free", which seriously kicked ass. Slash just ripped it on guitar and Duff was like running around the stage to my utter amusement. Scott was leaning on everyone and singing in his shmexy low voice. Then the song ended and Scott said, "Jesus...it's like fucking New Orleans here!" He was really sweating profusely, so he wiped the sweat off his forehead...and his bare chest ^_^ Then came "Fall To Pieces", which everyone knew. At the very beginning there was some microphone feedback, which we all cringed at, but the rest of the song was very well done. After another STP song that I can't remember the name of for some odd reason, they left the stage and everyone screamed for an encore. So, Slash came back all by his lonesome with a sweet double guitar and just started playing random things. Duff came out next, followed by Dave and Brain. That's when they started "Wish You Were Here", which is a Pink Floyd song for those of you who don't know, even though you should know. Scott came on stage last yet again and started singing. Ah, I love that song. "How I wish, how I wish you were here...we're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year." It's such a lovely song and Scott was telling everyone to sing along when he held out his microphone, which we did. Yes...so pretty. Then came "Superhuman" and before the song started Scott said, "Now, I hope you all know this song. The chorus goes something like this...'Cocaine, alcohol, lady-lay, withdrawl'..." He sort of half-sang, half-said it with his sexy little drawl. I'm sorry, but I happen to notice those things. Another thing that I noticed was that Scott was a bit off-key in some of the songs. I didn't say anything because he found his way back on key very quickly, but the lady next to me, who must've been a huge Guns 'n Roses fan, kept complaining about it and blasted Scott. That really pissed me off, so I just ignored her. Anyway, next they did "Mr. Brownstone", one of my favorite GNR songs. The guy behind us was singing along and was surprised that I knew some of the words. He was a little annoying, but still pretty cool. Then they left yet again, but came back to conclude with "Slither". I was jumping up and down and thrashing around because "Slither" is just one of those songs that you go crazy to. Scott was twisting around like a snake while Slash was going insane on guitar, playing it behind his head. Then we had to leave after they concluded because my dad was waiting. Dude, that show kicked so much fucking ass. I will never EVER get over it. It was just a dirty rock show...with Scott half-naked ^_^ Please note that I probably didn't get the order of the songs correct, but I was in my own little world, so I could care less about order. What made me sad was that they didn't play "Dirty Little Thing", which is one of the best songs on the album. Ah well. At least they played "You Got No Right", my favorite song. I cried when they played it. I'm serious. I usually never cry at that song, but I cried to it at the concert. When Scott went to the really high note, he wasn't off key. He was just right on. *sigh* I wish I could see it again. But yeah...that was probably the best concert I've ever seen. They just narrowly beat out Green Day, but they still won me over. Okay, I'm done *lol*
